Hold your horses on this spectacular VINTAGE buckle! We still can't believe we stumbled upon this treasured heirloom. This rare buckle was  produced by  the iconic Gist brand Inc to commemorate American Rodeo Legends. Custom made sterling overlay intricately designed with bronze and two stunning  ruby accents.  This buckle was made back in the 1980's or early 90's to honor legendary actor and rodeo star Ben Johnson. Mr Johnson was most known by being a close friend to John Wayne. OMG!! He was in hundreds of movies, but received an Academy Award in 1971 for his role in " The Last Picture Show." The buckle notes both his major awards , the Oscar and the WORLD CHAMPION TEAM ROPER AWARD. The buckle also shows a movie camera and a roper. Yes, he was an outstanding cowboy..this is actually how he landed an acting job not only was he an amazing cowboy he could  act and was really  handsome.  His name is unscripted in the center with beautiful engraving. This buckle is really impressive and to hold a piece of history in your hands like this buckle it's just incredible. These buckles are RARE and only a limited amount were produced. The buckle is #232 and engraved in the back. In beautiful condition this will be an amazing piece for a rodeo enthusiast, a vintage collector or someone who wants a part of history as a fashion  statement with a vintage flair.
