Otherwise, known as the Cross of Lorraine design these earrings symbolize a deep history. This design was used in the fur trade in North America as far back as the 1680-1820's The patina oxidized design enhances the earrings. Created by Tim Yazzie from the extremely talented Yazzie family. These earrings are extremely light weight, a beautiful dangle and of course fashionable. A definite treasure for your collection!
*A special note: When certain Native American groups first saw the cross they thought that it was a dragonfly. Which in their culture is a sacred being that took prayers to the great spirit.
Most importantly this symbol represents the cross which Jesus was crucified. It is a symbol of the wooden sign placed over the head of Jesus on the cross showing the letters "INRI." Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.
